'Warcraft' Cast Helps You Better Understand the 'World of Warcraft' Universe

World of Warcraft is a massively popular multiplayer online role-playing game released in 2004. But despite it’s over 12 million users, many have no idea about the World of Warcraft universe and what it all means.

We don’t have the time, and neither do you, for us to break down the entire World of Warcraft universe and all it’s lore, but we did sit down with cast members Ben Schnetzer and Robert Kazinsky, from the new movie Warcraft, to get their perspective on the vast world their film hails from.

“It took a lot of inspiration from [J.R.R.] Tolkien, from Marvel, from Star Wars,” Kazinsky said. “And if you have any interest in fantasy at all, it created a world in which all these things that you would love whether it’s dragons or dwarfs. There were entire areas that people fall in love with. And gaming is a very personal thing.”

Kazinsky, who admittedly play the video game steady for a couple years of his life, went on to say that gaming is an intensely personal thing and said the character the built inside the game is like “an old friend” to him.

“You can make your character any type of thing you want it to be and that’s an intoxicating premise,” he said.
