Want free Southern Fried Shrimp from Zaxby's? Here's how to grab yours in Florida

Zaxby's, known for its "saucy chicken and signature sauces," is dipping its toe into seafood: Southern fried shrimp.

Featuring seafood on its menu is a first for the Georgia-based chain.

The fast-food chain also is tempting customers with a special offer: a free side of the Southern Fried Shrimp for Zax Rewardz members.

Here's what you should know about the limited time offer.

Is Zaxby's selling shrimp?

"We’re taking America’s most popular seafood and giving it our own unique spin — the ‘ZaxSeas’ way, as we call it,” said Patrick Schwing, Zaxby’s chief marketing and strategy officer.

“Our new Southern Fried Shrimp delivers the premium quality our Zax fans expect — generously seasoned and fried to crispy golden perfection, paired with the zesty kick of Zaxtail Sauce. It is truly a one-of-a-kind sauce for a one-of-a-kind shrimp!”

Zaxby’s Southern Fried Shrimp can be ordered as either a meal or as a standalone side paired with Zaxtail Sauce, Zaxby’s newest addition to its “saucefolio” of 12 signature sauces.

The meal features eight butterflied shrimp, served with Zaxtail Sauce, Texas toast, crinkle fries, and a small drink.

The shrimp are breaded with garlic and onion powder, seasoned with pepper and buttermilk, and fried. The Zaxtail Sauce is a blend of the Zaxby's Zax Sauce and cocktail sauce with notes of horseradish.

Shrimp may also be added as a side, with customers able to order four shrimp with sauce for $3. It can be added to any meal.

How long will Zaxby's Southern Fried Shrimp be available?

The limited time offer is expected to run through the end of June, or while supplies last, according to an email from a Zaxby's spokesperson.

How to get free shrimp from Zaxby's

Zaxby’s is offering the free side of four Southern Fried Shrimp between Monday, March 25, through March 31.

The offer is available to Zax Rewardz members who order online, through the restaurant's app, or by scanning the QR code in the restaurant.

Your purchase must be greater than $5, excluding the reward item. The freebie is limited to one offer per person/device.

How do you get the Zax Rewardz app?

To join Zax Rewardz, customers can download the Zaxby’s app on Google Play or the App Store or sign up online at zaxbys.com/rewards.

The loyalty program is a point-based catalog of rewards, which allows users to turn earned points into freebies. Every $1 earns 10 points, which accumulate into a choice of free menu items and select dollars-off rewards.

How many Zaxby's locations are in Florida?

There are 950 Zaxby's in 17 states, including 166 restaurants in Florida.
