Getting salon-quality hair doesn’t have to require the salon price — or effort.

All it takes is finding the best styling tools that work for you, which is simpler than you might think. It took me a long while to find tools I trust myself enough to use and execute properly, but finding them made all the difference in my beauty routine, and helps me feel more confident.

I owe a lot of my hair success to the Chi straightener my mom bought me nine years ago (more on that, below). With that, and my trusty Conair wand (also below), I can style my hair in 15 minutes or less.

Before, I wore my hair in ponytail after ponytail (which caused a ton of breakage) and I never felt super great about myself. Now, I’m confident in how I look — and still rock the ponytail.

And good hair doesn’t mean breaking the bank.

After doing some research, I found affordable, top-rated, and user-approved hair-styling tools on sale right now at Walmart — all from brands I trust.

So, your journey to perfect curls, straight locks or a less-frizzy mane could begin right now. Below, check out some of the tools from top brands including Chi, Remington Babyliss and Conair on sale at Walmart.

This is the curling iron I see at hair salons, so I was shocked to find it at Walmart — and on sale. What makes this iron different is the comfortable, ergonomic shape of the grip as well as the super long (six feet) swivel cord that can make it easy to style your hair without coming unplugged.

The device has various heat settings and can heat up to 430 degrees.

Promising review: “This iron heats up fast. I love the big curls it makes in my hair when I use it. I only have a smaller one, so this bigger one gives my hair a different look, and I really like it. It has different heat settings for different types of hair so it seems to work for everyone. It is easy to use and looks to be of great quality. I will never buy a different brand again it's my new favorite!”

This flat iron is the center of my hairstyling routine. Whether I’m curling my hair, straightening it or taming flyaways after curling my strands, I use this exact Chi every time.

There’s no heat setting on this, which is good for me because I tend to overheat my styling tools. I’ve found this flat iron’s temperature is perfect for my thick locks.

Oh, and I’ve had this straightener for nine years, and it still works like new!

Promising review: “I needed to replace my last Chi flat iron, it had been dropped a few times and wasn't heating up properly. I paid $100 for my last Chi at least eight years ago at a salon ... Found the Chi flat iron for less than $60 with free shipping. It works great, and I've never been happier.”

Both made from ceramic material, the tools help prevent frizz and static, an essential when you’re on the go And just because the tools are smaller doesn’t mean they don’t work as well — they heat up substantially to 392 degrees.

This tool is the closest thing to getting automatic curls (for any hair type or length). The rotating barrel creates perfectly styled locks with the push of a button. There are five temperature settings to choose from, and this curling iron gets up to 450 degrees, but don’t worry — a special coating on the device prevents heat damage.

Promising review: “My holy grail of curling wands! This is so easy to use, and you can get so many looks with it: Tight curls [or] beach waves. I love playing around with it and getting different looks. The temperature options are great not to mention how pretty the wand itself is and the case. I have many other high-end, expensive hair tools, and this is finally giving me the curls I want. I have fine, thin blonde hair and my curls last.”
