‘The Wall’ Contestant Nearly Faints, Loses $1 Million

On Tuesday’s The Wall, a contestant couldn’t handle the pressure of the high-stakes game and nearly fainted. Jarrod and Shantell were lucky enough to have a ball drop into the $1 million slot. After some gameplay, their total was settled at $950,000.

Being isolated, Shantell had to choose between a safe contract or the potentially riskier try at the big money. She debated, and when she emerged from isolation she told her husband, Jarrod, that she took the contract for $135,000.

Shantell nearly fainted and Jarrod had to catch her. He supported his wife’s decision but then had to let her know that they would have won $950,000 if she had torn up the contract. Jarrod said, “I love you and we can still do so much with that money: $135,000 is so much money.”

The Wall airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
