'The Walking Dead' recap: Moral compass confusion abounds
On The Walking Dead, some of the characters found themselves wrestling with the morality of mercilessly killing Saviors in the name of righteousness. The two who struggled the most were Morgan and Rick.
Last week, viewers were left with Rick staring down the barrel of Morales’s gun. His old acquaintance played devil’s advocate by telling Rick that they were more alike than different. He said, “We’re two a**holes who’ll do whatever we have to just to keep going. And the only difference is I’m the one holding the gun. That doesn’t make me any worse than you, Rick — that just makes me luckier.”
Morales wasn’t actually that lucky at all, because Daryl shot him in the face. Rick was upset because he realized he was becoming a monster.
Meanwhile Morgan was still fuming about taking the Saviors prisoner instead of dropping bodies. And he wasn’t in the mood to listen to Jesus.
Jesus insisted they take care of the prisoners, but Morgan warned that the Saviors would never change and that should be executed. The two ultimately got into fight and Morgan left.
Lastly, Ezekiel was ecstatic because he thought his platoon of knights had managed to kill all the Saviors leading to Gavin’s without a single casualty. But he soon learned he had been led into a trap, as .50 caliber bullets rained down upon him.
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
