How cool is it that the folks who fork over the gold ― namely, the major donors to the Society of the Four Arts' dinner dance ― are thanked with a dinner of gold?

It's some kind of karmic symmetry … or maybe symmetric karma. Whatevs.

James Borynack and Adolfo Zaralegui hosted the event, which took place Dec. 11 at the Findlay Galleries and honored the major donors to the "Enchanted Evening in Eternal Egypt" dinner dance.

The two-tier evening began in the main gallery with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, music and a leisurely look at an exhibition of works by American abstractionist Robert Natkin.

After cocktails, a lucky — and generous — assemblage of 50 or guests move to the rooftop terrace , which had been cloaked in gold by Lime Design to resemble a Pharaoh's golden palace.

Gold-covered tables with names like "Sphinx" and "Pyramids" were centered with golden palm fronds and set the theme for a Mediterranean dinner.

Findlay Galleries CEO Borynack and dinner-dance chairwoman Pamela Patsley offered brief remarks.

Patsley and Jean Rutherfoord are co-chairwomen of the "Enchanted Evening in Eternal Egypt" dinner-dance, which will take place Feb. 23 under the tent in the gardens of The Society of the Four Arts.

More than 100 people attended the evening, including Gary Patsley, Mary Randolph Ballinger, Bonnie McElveen-Hunter, Randolph Guthrie, Kit Pannill, Jane and Carl Panattoni, Jerry and Sanda Lambert, Kathryn and Leo Vecellio, Bruce and Robby Toll, and Billy and Shelley Gubelmann.

Proceeds from the dinner-dance benefit The Society of the Four Arts.
