First, Daenerys Targaryen was the lucky mom to three dragons. Then she was down to two. Now the internet would have us believe that she never even had a single dragon to begin with. A viral debate on Reddit threatens to upend the world of Game of Thrones, and it’s all over the number of legs Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion are rocking.

The sort of person who reminds folks that the green ghoul is actually called "Frankenstein’s monster" hopped on Reddit to let the world know that dragons have four legs, while creatures that have two legs and wings, like Daenerys's brood, are actually called "wyverns." This sparked a debate as to whether or not it’s acceptable to consider wyverns a subcategory of dragons-are dragons to wyverns as dogs are to collies, or as dogs to wolves? Either way, George R.R. Martin and the Game of Thrones show-runners made the right move. Whatever the bipedal trio are, they look infinitely cooler than their four-legged cousins, who seem to resemble either shredded lizard-horses or scaly otters with wings. And anyway, it’s hard to imagine that Missandei will be introducing Dany as "Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, first of her name, rightful heir to the Iron Throne, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, Khlaeesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, the Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Wyverns," any time soon.
