2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards might as well have taken place in Wakanda, because Black Panther won all the awards and, arguably, the acceptance speeches as well. The movie’s titular star, Chadwick Boseman, took home Best Performance in a Movie and Best Hero. But he had a different hero in mind while accepting his golden popcorn. “It's even greater to acknowledge the heroes that we have in real life,” Boseman said after winning the award for Best Hero. “So I just want to acknowledge somebody that's here today. James Shaw Jr. Where are you?” James Shaw Jr. has been praised for disarming a gunman at a Waffle House near Nashville back in April. And Boseman wanted to take this recognition of heroics one step further, when he invited him onstage and gave him the golden popcorn, saying “this is gonna live at your house.”   Michael B. Jordan also won for Black Panther, earning Best Villain. And with all due respect to the host of the evening, Tiffany Haddish, Jordan may have also won the best joke of the night. “I'm shocked that I won this award for best villain,” Jordan said. “I thought for sure Roseanne had that in the bag, you know. Crazy.” And even though he plays a villian on the big screen, we learned that in real life, he’s actually looking out for his pal Black Panther. “One more thing,” Jordan said to close. “Chadwick Boseman. He personally asked me to ask y'all to stop asking him to say ‘Wakanda forever’ out in the streets. Y'all taking the forever thing a little too seriously.” Check out this deleted scene from Black Panther: Read more from Yahoo Entertainment: John Oliver on why Trump administration shouldn’t use the Bible to defend policies Anthony Bourdain shows us Cajun Mardi Gras on second-to-last ‘Parts Unknown’ Inappropriate answer on ‘Family Feud’ results in friends turning on Charles Barkley Tell us what you think!
