UK cinema chain Vue has announced it will reopen 30 of its venues from 11 December ‘with more to be announced shortly’, revealing a slate of festive favourites to enjoy.

Cinemas were closed across England at the start of November, but are now able to reopen in areas that are currently under Tier 1 and Tier 2 coronavirus restrictions. The Rule of Six still applies in those regions, and mixing with other households inside ‘leisure and entertainment venues’ such as cinemas, is only allowed in Tier 1 areas.

The Christmas films on offer at Vue sites include Last Christmas, Nightmare Before Christmas, Love Actually, Gremlins, Elf, Die Hard, It’s a Wonderful Life, and Home Alone.

Wonder Woman 1984 will also be released in cinemas nationwide from 16 December, and early reactions are pointing to it being another hit for DC.
