‘The Voice’ Sets First Live Real-Time Voting and Results Show
NBC has announced the first-ever live real-time voting and results show for “The Voice,” which will air on Monday, Nov. 7.
The two-hour special will feature performances, voting and results all taking place during the same episode.
Viewers will be able to vote, advancing two artists per team, on Twitter and by “The Voice’s” app. Viewers can vote up to 10 times, during the eastern and central time zones. For audiences in western and mountain time zones, voting is still open, if they wish to follow along on “The Voice’s” Twitter account, which will announce the eligible artists.
The Top 20 — five from each coach’s team — will perform on the live playoffs episode, leading into the Top 12 decision on Monday, Nov. 14 when the coaches will each select the final member of their team.
Aside from marking the first live voting and results show, the Nov. 7 episode is also the first live show for new coaches Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys.
Following the results, “The Voice” will host Facebook Live segments with the three remaining artists on each team. The four Facebook segments will be hosted by Jeff Dye (“Better Late Than Never”).
“The Voice” will not air on Nov. 8, the night of the presidential election.
“The Voice” is the top unscripted series among adults 18-49. This season, the music competition show has averaged a 3.5 rating and nearly 13 million overall viewers. With the long-running success, NBC has given an early double renewal, picking up the show for Season 12 and Season 13. Former coach Gwen Stefani will be back for Season 12, swapping in for Cyrus, who will return for Season 13.
