8:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘The Voice’!” In the 17th episode, The Top 12 artists found out their fates during Tuesday night’s results show. Saved by the public vote were Asher HaVon and Josh Sanders (Team Reba), Maddi Jane and Serenity Arce (Team Chance), Nathan Chester and Bryan Olesen (Team Legend), Madison Curbelo, Karen Waldrup and Tae Lewis (Team Dan + Shay). The three artists eliminated were L. Rodgers (Team Reba), Nadège (Team Chance) and Zoe Levert (Team Legend). Let’s get these semi-finals started!

8:02 p.m. – For tonight’s hometown dedication week, the artists were singing songs that remind them of home and in honor of their family and friends. Up first was Team Reba’s Josh Sanders with his take on Chris Stapleton’s “White Horse.” John called the performance “great” because he showed a different side of himself on a “big song” that “cut through.” Reba added that he “drew the audience in” and called the “ending note so powerful.”

8:12 p.m. – The second performance came from Team Dan + Shay’s Madison Curbelo with her version of “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper because she was inspired by Javier Colon’s rendition of it on season 1. Chance was “blown away” by her “unique tone” that she puts in all of her songs. He likened her style to “90s Disney soundtracks” and called it “angelic.” Dan added that “everyone is rooting for you” and Shay told her that she “radiates light.”

8:24 p.m. – In addition to the solo performances, the final 9 also joined for trio performances inspired by the upcoming film “If.” First up was the joint effort on The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven” from Maddi, Bryan and Nathan.

8:32 p.m. – The first artist from Team Chance to perform on their own was Serenity Arce with the acoustic version of Ariana Grande’s “we can’t be friends (wait for your love)” as a way of stripping down her vocal talents. Reba said that she sang “beautifully.” Chance was proud of the song choice because it “highlighted” her vocal and gave the audience a chance to “take it all in.”

8:44 p.m. – The three country singers Josh, Tae and Karen combined on “Forever Young” for the second trio of the night.

8:48 p.m. – Team Chance’s Maddi Jane returned to the stage for her solo performance of Tate McCrae’s “Greedy” in order to show her pop star side. After the performance, Chance said it was “insane” and “incredible.” He reinforced what they practiced — that she would control her breath while still incorporating choreography and said that it was a “Grammy-level performance.”

9:00 p.m. – Team Legend started the night with Nathan Chester taking on the Otis Redding track “Try a Little Tenderness.” After another roaring ovation for Nathan, John commented that it was “incredible” because of the “journey” he took the audience on and how he showed off his “skill as a performer.”

9:10 p.m. – The final trio performance was a gathering of Madison, Asher and Serenity on the Coldplay song “Fix You.”

9:20 p.m. – When Bryan Olesen took the stage for his solo performance it was to “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)” by Phil Collins. John was pleased with the song choice because it was a “counter-weight” to what he did last week with its emotional core. Afterward, John said that he felt Bryan “connecting to the lyric” and performaed with “subtlety and grace.”

9:31 p.m. – Karen Waldrup’s choice for her next performance was Sugarland’s “Stay.” Her coaches Dan + Shay were happy that she was showing “a little more vulnerability” this time around. Shay said that Karen “wore [her] heart on [her] sleeve” and Dan said that she “put all that work into that song” and showed her talent.

9:42 p.m. – Team Reba’s final performance came from Asher HaVon with the Beyonce number one hit “Irreplaceable.” John told Asher that his own dad told him that “Asher is the voice” and John backed him up by calling Asher the “best vocalist in the competition.” Reba was in tears at how Asher “floored” her with his stage presence and singing.

9:52 p.m. – After getting the instant save last week, Tae Lewis earned the closing performance spot this week with Lonestar’s “Amazed.” Dan thought the producers “saved the best for last” and Tae has “stepped up every week.” Shay was proud and said that Tae has “fought” for his spot on the show.
