8:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘The Voice’!” In episode 5, the coaches continued to build their teams with the fourth set of blind auditions. Joining Team Reba were Angelina NazarianAl Boogie and Crystal Nicole. Joining Team Niall were Tanner Massey and Nini Iris. Joining Team Gwen was Brandon Montel. Joining Team Legend were Lila Forde, Jarae Womack and Elizabeth Evans. Let’s see what Night 6 has to offer!

8:02 p.m. – The first artist of the night was 37 year old Willie Gomez from Miami who lost his father mere years after his family moved to the United States from the Dominican Republic. The loss “shaped” Willie in the sense that it marked when he turned to the arts, music and dancing, and built relationships in the industry dancing for stars like Britney Spears. For his audition he sang the Spanish song “La Bachata.” Gwen was sold by the performance, turning her chair well before Reba, John and then Niall did. Niall was the first to speak, commenting on the incorporation of dance into her performance to couple with his “strong, round voice.” Gwen added that he has “so much stage presence” and a “flawless” voice. John noticed the richness of his baritone and thinks that he has all the tools to be a big star. Reba called him “cute as a button” and said she liked his performance. Willie said that his heart told him to pick John so that’s just what he did.

8:10 p.m. – The next artist was Olivia Eden who got Niall and Reba to turn for her rendition of Niall’s own “This Town.” John told the 15 year old that she has a beautiful tone to her voice and Gwen thinks the yodel in her vocal will be a “signature thing” for her. Niall thought her voice would sound really well on a country song and loved that she showed off so many parts of her voice on his song. Reba was “blown away” by how she was able to perform with poise at such a young age and with “vocal ease.” Because she sang his song, it was no surprise that Olivia joined Team Niall.

8:21 p.m.Caitlin Quisenberry moved to Nashville from Colorado after her grandma died and left a law career to enter the world of country songwriting. It wasn’t long into “Rainbow” that Reba turned her chair in what looked like it would be another automatic claim, but Gwen hit her button as well right at the end. Niall regretted not turning, but said it was because there was shakiness at the start of the song. John agreed, but said that she figured out the song by the end. Reba heard the “quality” in her voice and said that her voice is what she likes to listen to. Gwen called it “raw talent” and said that she needs a coach that can bounce ideas off of her and help her figure out what choices to make in the future. Following Reba’s suggestion, Caitlin went with her “fellow red head” in joining Team Reba.

8:32 p.m. – Next up was Clayton Davis with “Sunday Morning,” but he failed to inspire any of the coaches to turn around. John complimented his high notes, but said that it’s hard to take on an Adam Levine vocal without being compared to him. Gwen wanted “a little more dynamics” throughout the song and Niall didn’t feel the “emotional connection” from the performance.

8:42 p.m. – Rideshare driver Kara Tenae would sing in the car with her passengers and then appeared in a commercial with Julia Michaels that aired during The Grammys. Looking to make a bigger break, Kara performed “Boo’d Up” for the coaches. It was an audition that caught the attention of Gwen, Niall and Reba, with only John holding out. Niall thought it was “amazing” because it started off subtle and then she had “crazy runs” later on. Reba said that her voice comes from her “inner soul” and she has “incredible” vocal range. Gwen wants to help Kara find the “emotion of the song” and thinks they’re a good match because of her stage personality and energy. Excited to match with her fellow “Cali girl,” Kara became the newest member of Team Gwen.

8:52 p.m. – The last artist of the night was music teacher Caleb Sasser from Los Angeles. As promised, Caleb “came alive” with his performance of “Another Sad Love Song” that got immediate turns from Gwen and Niall. Not soon after did Reba and John jumped in to make it another four chair turn for the season. John called the audition “magical,” hearing Toni Braxton and Anita Baker in his vocal, and thought it was “really musical and really creative.” Gwen said she can help with getting him out of his shell and showing his personality through his voice. Niall mentioned “the ease” that he sings with and could tell that he’s a nice person because of the way he sings. Reba closed out the pitches by saying that his voice made her feel “peace inside” and would love to sing a duet with him. Calling all of the coaches amazing, Caleb decided to follow his music inspiration and joined Team Legend.
