Tonight on “The Voice,” country superstar Wynonna Judd serves as the Season 24 mega mentor. The three-way knockouts are back as coaches Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani and John Legend group three artists to perform individually against each other. Only one artist in each trio will advance to the playoffs, but each coach has one save and one steal in this round.

The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the show’s newest season, which premiered September 25 on NBC. The show’s innovative format features five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows.

8:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘The Voice’!” In episode 14, the coaches continued refining their teams in the knockouts. On Team Reba’s nobody competed. On Team Niall Mara Justine joined the squad from Team Legend and then Nini Iris defeated Azán and Olivia Minogue. On Team Gwen Tanner Massey defeated Chechi Sarai and Rudi (saved by Gwen). Team Legend had the night off. Let’s continue the knockouts!

8:02 p.m. – The night started with Team Legend’s Deejay Young singing “Breakin’ My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes),” Lila Forde singing “Fire and Rain,” and Stee singing “Pretty Wings.” Wynonna was really impressed with Deejay, but John warned him against being “too ad-libby without a purpose.” With Lila’s rehearsal they liked that she “honored the classic” while still making it her own. John wanted Stee to find more structure in his performance so that it’s clear that he’s the focus of attention in a big song.

8:08 p.m. – Reba called Deejay a “powerhouse” because of his stage presence and vocals together and told Lila that she did a great job on one of her favorite songs. Niall liked that Deejay did “something different” this time and, like Reba, was a big fan of Lila as well, calling her performance “perfection,” but finally saw in Stee what John did and loved it. Gwen also really liked Deejay, but fell in love with Stee for showing his serious side. John thought they all picked the right songs for themselves, noting Deejay’s stage performance, Lila’s creativity in musical deviation, and Stee’s skill and confidence. For his winner of the knockout, John went with Lila because of how in love the other coaches were with her.

8:26 p.m. – Gwen used her steal on Stee, commenting that she’s been waiting to pull him over and calling him a “flawless singer.” She followed up the steal with the knockout between Bias beating out Jenna Marquis and Jason Arcilla with his take on “You Should Probably Leave.” Gwen chose him for his “rare it factor” and the blending of soul and country.

8:33 p.m. – For Team Niall’s next knockout, Noah Spencer sang “Where Rainbows Never Die,” Huntley took on “Wanted Dead or Alive,” and Claudia B. went with “Don’t Know Why.” Wynonna called Claudia a “singer’s singer” because she has a rare breathiness, but Shay thought she could connect more to the band to make it sound “more cohesive.” Wynonna sang alongside Huntley’s rehearsal and then offered to sing with him in the future if he ever wants to harmonize. Shay worked with him to emphasize an important line in the song to make it more impactful. Noah’s performance made Wynonna cry and Dan coached him through his reactions to the lyric because they can add depth.

8:45 p.m. – Gwen thought it was an impossible decision for Niall to make because of Claudia’s artistry, Huntley’s perfection, and Noah’s “very, very rare” authenticity. John thought he saw “the full view” of Claudia’s musicianship this time and called Huntley “eerily perfect every time.” He was surprised by Noah for a “gorgeous” performance. Reba thought Claudia bridged a performance between Norah Jones and her own style, Huntley is always good, and Noah made her “feel homesick.” Niall called it “the best knockout I’ve ever seen on this show” because of Claudia’s “magic,” Huntley playing in his wheelhouse, and Noah’s “insane” growth. For his decision, Niall locked in Huntley for his team because of his consistency and the “gravel in his voice.”

9:00 p.m. – With so much support from all of the coaches, Claudia wasn’t going home either because John hit his steal and Niall tried to keep her with his save. John told her he understands her style of music and he can “help her get there.” Niall said that they found her lane together and pleaded with her to stay with him. Though she “adored working with” John previously, Claudia said she didn’t have enough time with Niall and wanted to remain on his team.

9:06 p.m. – Because Claudia slipped through the cracks, John went in with his steal again for Noah, but so did Reba. John told Noah that he “earned it out here on stage” while admitting that Reba is within his genre. Reba said she had always wanted Noah and got “choked up again” thinking about being able to work with him. For Noah, it was an easy decision to “make the hometown proud” by going with Team Reba.

9:08 p.m. – For her own knockout, Reba put together Ms. Monét with “Best of My Love,” Rachele Nguyen with “Die from a Broken Heart,” and Ruby Leigh with “Blue.” Wynonna wanted Ms. Monét to work on her breath and being more present in the song. Reba learned something new when Wynonna advised Rachele to “squeeze your butt” in order to hold the high note better. Wynonna was happy with Ruby’s song choice, but Reba thought she could portray the character of the song a little better.

9:20 p.m. – Niall was excited by Ms. Monét because of how “cool” everything she does is, but thought that Rachele stepped it up by bringing the emotion and Ruby had incredible power in her voice. Gwen thought Ms. Monét was “captivating,” Rachele has a beautiful tone, and Ruby is original while also reminding them of classic country. John called Ms. Monét’s performance a “tour de force,” noted how confident Rachele was, and agreed that Ruby is so powerful for a young age. Reba told Ms. Monét that she was “tasteful,” Rachel that she’s “grown so much in talent and stage presence,” and Ruby that the crack in her voice is appealing. Reba’s winner of the knockout was because she needs “that country feel.”

9:34 p.m. – For Gwen’s last knockout, CORii sang “Ain’t It Fun,” Kara Tenae sang “Leave (Get Out),” and Kristen Brown sang “This One’s for the Girls.” Wynonna loved CORii’s voice, but needed her to “relax a little bit” because it was too much in too little time. Gwen told Kara that she didn’t “get started” on the song until the chorus and so they worked with her to be more honest in the lyric to settle in quicker. Wynonna asked Kristen to “look in the camera” during the performance so that she can connect with the audience at home because it’s such a relatable song.

9:45 p.m. – John called CORii’s voice “powerful,” and she managed to make a song that shouldn’t work with her voice sound great. He thought Kara is perfect for the show and noticed that Kristen got emotional during her performance, but it “clearly such a good singer.” Reba thinks CORii’s “come a long way,” Kara has great stage presence, and Kristen was “gutsy” to sing both loud and soft. Niall liked the way Kara told the story of the song and noticed that Kristen connected with young girls in the audience. Gwen appreciated that CORii was “holding back” appropriately, thinks Kara is “so good at being dynamic on stage,” and “adored” Kristen and didn’t care that the second half of the song wasn’t her “sweet spot.” To complete her team in the lives, Gwen chose Kara because she “won this knockout tonight.”

9:58 p.m. – Eager to challenge Reba with a country artist of his own and because he thinks she’s done well throughout the competition, John decided to use his steal on Kristen to bring her over to Team Legend.
