Top 12 Key Advisor Shania Twain joined The Voice‘s coaches as the show’s first ever “fifth chair” on Monday night (April 24), and in celebration Billboard is premiering an exclusive clip revealing the story behind one of her biggest hits and self-described “favorite songs,” the late-’90s smash “From This Moment On.”

The inspiration for the Come on Over ballad, she explains, came to her as she was taking in a soccer game for the very first time while she was in Italy, and was so overwhelmed that her “mind started wandering to songwriting.”

“By the end of the game, I had the song written,” she remembers, explaining that lyrically, it felt like a “perfect love song.”

She also offered insight behind the inspiration for the song’s video, as well as what it means to her when fans find added resonance in the song during key life moments, such as the birth of a child or as a first dance at a wedding.

“It means a lot to me that it means something so personal to so many people,” she said of the 1998 No. 4 Hot 100 hit. “So many people brought a part of me with them into such an important moment in their life.”

The Voice airs tonight on NBC at 8 p.m. EST. Watch the exclusive video below:
