Asher HaVon is the champion of The Voice 2024.

The Selma, Alabama native emerges at the very top of his class in this 25th season of NBC’s singing contest, winning Tuesday night’s (May 21) all-star finale.

Following performances of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” on Monday night, then, on Tuesday’s final, a rendition of Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” and a duet with his coach Reba McEntire on Patti LaBelle’s “One My Own,” HaVon (Team Reba) was the last competitor standing. He trumped a top 5 ahead of Karen Waldrup (Team Dan + Shay in 5th place), Nathan Chester (Team Legend in 4th), Bryan Olesen (Team Legend in 3rd) and Josh Sanders (Team Reba in second).

Before his name was called out, HaVon paid tribute to McEntire for her support and guidance. “Oh my god, it has meant the world to me,” he remarked. “Thank-you for giving me such a safe place to be artistic self, thank-you for making me believe in myself. And I promise you I will never let you down.” McEntire completes the season with a rare 1-2.

The 31-year-old HaVon impressed throughout the season with his powerful, honey-laced vocals, flair and big-game instincts.

Along the way, he delivered a commanding performance of Sia and David Guetta’s “Titanium” during the Playoffs, which had Shay Mooney of Dan+ Shay enthuse, “this felt like a Grammy moment for you, man.”

John Legend likened that effort to a religious experience. “There are certain things about you that remind me of Whitney Houston. She would take these songs that weren’t written for a soul singer and have that restraint and regal presence on the sound but also throw in a dope run that you would hear in church,” Legend said. “In church, we save a descriptor for certain vessels, we say they’re anointed. I just felt that anointing on you. That was divine.” Legend will be smarting right now; he’s the only coach who didn’t turn during HaVon’s Blind Audition.

HaVon’s resume includes a spot singing for Barack Obama during one of the former POTUS’ hometown’s Civil Rights commemorations, and now the spoils for The Voice 2024.

An all-star cast joined on both nights The Voice finale, including Keith Urban (on Monday), The Black Keys, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson and Kate Hudson (all performing on the Tuesday episode).

In a special moment, a cadre of coaching favorites from the past graced the stage to celebrate its milestone 25th season, from Kelly Clarkson to CeeLo Green, Niall Horan, Jennifer Hudson, Nick Jonas, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Gwen Stefani.
