‘Voice’ Contestant Brings Family to Tears

On Monday’s episode of The Voice, the contestants sang in the top 11 performances, and each brought a family member to rehearsal with their coach. One of the fan favorites, 17-year-old Madi Davis, brought her mother to watch Pharrell Williams coach her. Pharrell gave the sage advice, “I definitely want you to volunteer your spirit. … Only pick your heart up once they stop clapping.” Madi’s mother said, “Pharrell helped Madi take that extra step. The confidence and poise that she shows onstage is overwhelming.” Madi’s emotional performance of “Love Is Blindness” blew the audience away. When she finished her song, her father was seen bawling and giving her two thumbs up. Blake Shelton noticed the encouragement and said, “I love that.” At the end of the segment, Pharrell stood up and gave Madi high praise for baring her soul for her performance.

The Voice airs Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC @ 8/7 Central.
