There’s a new kid on the block at “The Voice,” and she’s bringing the fuego.

Camila Cabello officially joined the NBC reality singing competition as its newest coach for its Season 22 premiere Monday night, rounding out the lineup with returning coaches Gwen Stefani, John Legend and Blake Shelton. Cabello previously appeared on the show last season as Legend’s celebrity adviser.

Cabello, whose musical career began with a stint on the “The X Factor” in 2012, is looking forward to nurturing the next generation of talent.

“It feels very full circle ‘cause I started on a singing competition show,” said Cabello in a prerecorded interview. “I hope these people become better artists and get to live their dreams.”

But not everyone is jazzed with Cabello’s arrival, especially Shelton.

“I don’t want to help her in any way,” Shelton told host Carson Daly jokingly when asked if he’d given Cabello any advice. “Because so far I’m not impressed.”

However, Cabello wasn't fazed by Shelton’s prickly welcome.

“That’s what a very threatened person would say,” Cabello shot back. “You’re just trying to intimidate me. It’s not working.”

Here’s what went down during Monday’s premiere of "The Voice."

Camila Cabello snags Morgan Myles in first four-chair turn

The first vocalist to captivate the coaches this season was Nashville singer Morgan Myles, whose raspy vocals and soulful rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” prompted all four judges to turn around in their chairs.

“We don’t get a lot of people singing that song because it’s so intimidating,” Legend told Myles. “It was exquisite: one of the best blind auditions I’ve seen in quite a long time.”

Shelton attempted to sway Myles – and keep the spotlight on himself – with a “heart-to-heart talk” that referenced their shared struggling musician backgrounds. The country singer hit a button on his chair that lit up his spot onstage, leaving his fellow coaches in the dark.

“When I moved to Nashville, I was 17 years old, and I started singing demos for songwriters,” Shelton said. “Your gift is that you can make people really believe what you’re singing about, and you just need somebody to help you along that journey.”

Cabello took a more diplomatic approach to persuade Myles to join her team.

“I want what’s best for you and if what you want is Blake’s support and help to be a country artist, absolutely,” Cabello said. “If what you want is to (find) your own lane – you’re not a country artist, you’re not a pop artist, you’re just Morgan – then I would be really excited to work with you.”

Cabello prevailed in the end, with Myles choosing to join Team Camila.

“Who is this person? Get her out of here,” joked Shelton of Cabello after her win.

Legend added: “We all should be a little bit scared of Camila. I think she’s ready for competition.”

Classically-trained singer Emma Brooke moved Legend and Stefani with her agile vocal prowess and haunting rendition of “California Dreamin’” by The Mamas & the Papas.

“That tone of yours is really powerful, and it really cuts through,” Legend told Brooke, advising her to also “let loose a little bit.”

Legend added: “You’ve already been trained, but how do you unlearn some of the structure that’s been put around you?”

Stefani, on the other hand, tried to appeal to Brooke’s inner artist.

“Being someone that’s trying to say something in the world and connect to people is really what we all dream to do,” Stefani said. “I would love to try to find out what your dream is and try to help you mold that.”

Always the supportive hubby, Shelton worked to convince the 19-year-old singer to join his wife’s team by recounting a fabricated story about meeting Lauren Daigle, Brooke’s favorite female singer.

“I met Lauren Daigle one time in Nashville. All she could talk about was how Gwen was her hero and how Gwen’s artistry helped shape who she is,” Shelton said. “She said that if she was an artist on ‘The Voice’ she would choose (Gwen) as a coach, and anybody who wouldn’t choose her, I don’t like them.”

Unfortunately for Stefani, Brooke couldn’t be fooled, as she chose Legend to be her coach.

“I am impressed with Emma that she did not fall for this level of mischief and deception,” Legend said afterward.

Miami-based country singer Orlando Mendez, nicknamed the “Cuban Cowboy,” won the coaches over with his charismatic performance of Luke Comb’s “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” earning himself a four-chair turn.

“I’m a country artist. That’s all I’ve ever cared about being,” Shelton told Mendez. “If you feel the same way about your direction and if you want to be stubborn about it like I do, then I’m the coach for you.”

While Stefani said she could help Mendez navigate the “nerves” of being on the show, as well as “connecting with the cameras,” Cabello quickly cut in to make her case.

“I was actually on a singing competition show, and you know what, if you want to make an unpredictable, cool choice, you should be on my team,” said Cabello, who also hails from Miami.

Legend chimed in: “You could predictably pick that very crowded country box that Blake is trying to cram you into. You could go with somebody because they’re from your hometown. Also, you could go with someone who’s married to a country star and has country No. 1 hits, or you could do something that no one would expect and join Team Legend.”

Mendez and Cabello’s mutual Latin heritage sealed the deal, with the singer opting to join Team Camila.

“Camila is trying to mess with my country box,” Shelton said afterward. “She’s bedazzling the box. It’s meant to be a wooden box with rust and nails in it.”
