'The Voice': Blake Shelton's team takes a hit during Top 13 eliminations

Another week, another shocking elimination on "The Voice."

Following the biggest elimination of the season last week, the Top 13 laid it all on the line during an emotional night of special dedication performances on Monday.

Eleven singers moved one step closer to being crowned the Season 17 champion Tuesday, but for two singers, their journey on the NBC singing competition came to an end.

Reigning champ John Legend and Gwen Stefani's teams remained intact, but the same couldn’t be said about six-time "Voice" champ, Blake Shelton, who's now down to his last two singers. Kelly Clarkson's team also shrank.

Here's what happened during the results show:

Viewers' saves

The first three artists saved by overnight votes were Team John's Marybeth Byrd, Team Kelly's Hello Sunday and Team Gwen's Rose Short.

Team Blake's Kat Hammock and Team John's Katie Kadan advanced soon after.

Team Kelly's Jake Hoot, who was the most-streamed "Voice" artist overnight on Apple Music, moved on. The crowd warmly chanted, "Hoot," including his 4-year-old daughter Macy in the audience.

Team Gwen's Myracle Holloway, Team Blake's Ricky Duran, Team John’s Will Breman and Team Kelly’s Shane Q were also voted safe.

Instant Save

The three artists with the fewest viewer votes went head-to-head for the last spot in the Top 11 via the instant save.

Host Carson Daly revealed the bottom three: Team Gwen's Joana Martinez, Team Blake's Cali Wilson and Team Kelly's Max Boyle.

Wilson sang Fleetwood Mac’s "The Chain." Shelton said, "That performance tonight proved you deserve to be here."

Boyle performed Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud." Clarkson was "super shocked" about the results. "I didn’t think you would be here tonight. … Please America, vote," Clarkson added.

Martinez tackled Alicia Keys' "Superwoman." Stefani advocated for her: "America, she is so fearless at her age. I can’t even understand it."

With no more coaches’ saves in play, it was up to America to decide who advanced. The winner would be decided by a five-minute flash round of voting.

In the end, fans saved Martinez.

Eliminations

Boyle and Wilson were eliminated after failing to clinch the instant save.

As a consolation prize, Clarkson told Boyle that he "can come sing with me in (Las) Vegas at my residency anytime."

Team count

Clarkson: 3

Shelton: 2

The Top 11 will perform live Monday on NBC at 8 EST/PST, and another singer will be eliminated Tuesday.
