VMAs: Anitta Puts on Dance-Filled Performance of Hit Songs “Used to Be,” “Funk Rave” and “Grip”

Grammy nominee and global sensation Anitta took the VMAs stage for the second time Tuesday night.

Surrounded by a large group of neon backup dancers, Anitta transformed Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center into a full-on dance party to perform hit songs off her latest EP, Funk Generation: A Favela Love Story. Introduced by Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline, the Brazilian singer included on her set list “Used to Be,” “Funk Rave” and “Grip” off the recent album.

For the second year in a row, the “Boys Don’t Cry” performer won for best Latin music video at the awards show, nominated alongside the likes of Bad Bunny, Karol G and Shakira. Last year, Anitta made VMAs history when she became the first Brazilian artist to win a Moon Person, taking home the best Latin accolade for her viral hit song “Envolver.”
