Sebastian Maniscalco is gearing up to host the MTV Video Music Awards, so it's probably a good thing he just found out who Halsey was.
The comedian, who recently gained a huge amount of fame, was out in NYC when he spoke about the upcoming awards show.
"It feels great, it's something that I never thought would happen-- it feels really good man," the comic said after being asked about landing the gig.
Sebastian explained that even though he's not familiar with the current lineup of artists, MTV apparently liked that he didn't know much about music.
"I just found who Halsey was," he admitted.
Sebastian better get familiar with the name, because even though the nominations haven't been announced, there's no doubt Halsey will be a frontrunner for her video, "Nightmare."
Halsey won't have to be worried about being the butt of any jokes by Sebastian, because he admits he's not really into roasting people.
The Chicago comedian recently sold out Madison Square Garden for 4 consecutive nights. He can be seen in several comedy specials, the most recent of which was “Sebastian Maniscalco: Stay Hungry,” on Netflix.
This summer and fall, he will be traveling the country for his “You Bother Me” tour.
Last year Maniscalco released his memoir “Stay Hungry," which launched into a “Stay Hungry” tour, selling out five nights at Radio City Music Hall.
He was featured on the Forbes list of the world’s highest paid comedians in 2017 and 2018.
The 45 year old also posted a hilarious skit on his social media which featured his pregnant wife where he calls Siri asking for her to tell him what she can about the VMA's. He wrote"I want my MTV! Get ready. See you Monday, August 26th for the @vmas on @mtv!"
The 2019 VMA's are sure to be hilarious this year.
