Vivica A. Fox has been tapped to host a new show called Family Recipe Rumble. According to DeadlineFRR is a working title for Fox’s food competition that is in development. The timeless entertainer joined forces with Rainbow Heads Production and Southern Hospitality’s (Bravo) Woody Woodbeck to create the new show. Jodi Tovay and Daniel Keller-Bradshaw of Rainbow Heads are currently shopping the project for potential networks and streaming platforms.

The outlet reports that Family Recipe Rumble follows two families competing for cooking bragging rights and a $10,000 cash prize. Families partaking in the challenge will also be able to share their stories and reasons for cooking, à la Food Network’s Chopped. Audiences will learn more about their backstories, relatives, favorite foods, and their culture. Contestants must cook three meals consisting of modernized twists on classic dishes for the challenges. The show will also feature special guests who will taste and judge the challengers’ various dishes.

Fox spoke about her upcoming show in an official press release. The Two Can Play That Game entertainer briefly explained what audiences can look forward to. “This isn’t your typical food competition show,” she said. “Recipes passed down by generations sometimes tell the story of a family’s rich traditions, that nourish not only the appetite but the soul. We hope to show that meals made with love, and a little bit of friendly competition, can be satisfying to everyone who watches.”

Tovay and Keller-Bradshaw also opened up about the opportunity to work with Fox on the project. The pair laid out their mission statement for Family Recipe Rumble and what they hope to accomplish with the competition.

“We are thrilled to be working with Ms. Fox and veteran executive producer, Woody Woodbeck, on this project,” Tovay and Keller-Bradshaw expressed. “The goal is to showcase that culture and tradition shine through with each family’s passion for cooking; serving the viewer with a truly unique culinary competition experience.”
