Virginia scores by handing off to RB ... through his legs (Video)
Virginia reached into its bag of tricks to open the scoring against Louisville.
On second and goal from the UL 7, Cavaliers quarterback Kurt Benkert took a shotgun snap and began moving right in what looked like some sort of option play. However, as Benkert continued right, he handed the ball to Chris Sharp.
But it wasn’t an ordinary handoff. Watch this:
If you look closely, you’ll see Benkert hand the ball to Sharp through Sharp’s legs. Sharp then takes off in the other direction, cuts up field and reaches the end zone with a stellar dive.

How cool is that?
Watch the Louisville defensive linemen. They were completely fooled. The only Cardinals players who had a chance to bring down Sharp were a few linebackers holding the edge on the backside. But the play, by design, sent out tight end Tanner Cowley, No. 44, into space as the lead blocker.
Cowley did just enough to help clear the way for Sharp, who scored the first touchdown of his career on the play to give UVa a 7-0 lead.
After the early highlight, Virginia went on to lose 38-21.
