A Norfolk man wanted in connection with a fatal Virginia Beach stabbing was arrested in Richmond early Thursday, police said.

Kavitte Conway, 30, was wanted by Virginia Beach Police Department on a charge of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of 38-year-old Anthony Garcia.

According to a Virginia Beach Police spokesperson, officers responded around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to a call for service in the 1800 block of South Streamline Drive. This is off Potters Road near Oceana Boulevard.

At the scene, officers found Garcia suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he died.

“It was learned that Mr. Garcia had gotten into a dispute with the suspect, Kavitte Conway of Norfolk, which ended in Mr. Conway attacking and stabbing Mr. Garcia,” the spokesperson alleged in a news release.

The Henrico Police Department arrested Conway early Thursday. He is being held at the Virginia Beach Jail without bond.
