Wes was Paige’s abusive husband who hunted her down. With Paige escaping to Virgin River with her son, despite not having custody over him, Wes set about tracking her down and, eventually, found her.
Ultimately, Wes attempted to force Paige to go back with him, threatening her with violence. As he began to choke Paige, Wes fell down some stairs and died.
Wes’ dead body was then hidden by Preacher, who was helping Paige solve the mess. Unfortunately for them, it seems like Wes’ dead body is back for season 5 part 2, no doubt causing issues for them.
