Davis even matched her glam to her dress, rocking a jewel-toned eye look

Viola Davis is a vision in lilac.

The Oscar-winning actress, 58, turned heads on the red carpet Thursday night at The Albies in New York City.

At the event hosted by Amal and George Clooney, Davis wore a body-hugging off-the-shoulder lilac gown that draped to the floor before flowing out into a delicate train. She accessorized with drop earrings and a dazzling bracelet.

For glam, Davis opted for a matchy-matchy look, wearing purple eyeshadow to match her dress. She also rocked rosy cheeks and a bold plum lip that complemented her bright white smile while she posed for photos on the red carpet. The actress even threw up a peace sign to show off her good spirits.

Davis knows how to make a statement on a red carpet, often opting for sleek yet bold looks that show off her impeccable fashion sense.

For the Golden Globe Awards at the beginning of the year, she wore a brilliant blue Jason Wu gown with matching glam. The beautiful one-sleeve gown trailed behind her as she walked the carpet — which means it picked up a healthy amount of rainwater along the way. Still, the Woman King star rocked it like the pro she is.

"Viola is wearing a royal blue gown and her hair is done in a big Afro, so I wanted to keep her makeup radiant but clean and simple," makeup artist Sergio López-Rivera shared in a press release about the glam moment. "The final look is breezy and easygoing but sophisticated, perfect for the Golden Globes."

Davis' stylist Elizabeth Stewart shared behind-the-scenes pictures of their getting-ready process, calling out the "brilliant hair and makeup" by López-Rivera and hairstylist Jamika Wilson.
