Vince Vaughn's latest role skewers the body swap movie genre - literally.

In "Freaky," Vaughn plays a serial killer who just so happens to switch bodies with a high school girl, Millie (Kathryn Newton).

Of course, in addition to the usual hijinks, Millie finds herself stuck inside the body of a muderous psychopath.

"I don't like being a serial killer," Newton joked to Yahoo Entertainment. "I don't even know how to cook in the kitchen so I don't know what I'd do with a whole body."

Vaughn added of the dual performance, "You're building two characters and then you have someone else and all their great ideas and you kind of construct it together."

Video Transcript

VINCE VAUGHN: This is clearly not me. Have you ever seen me dress like that? I mean, I kind of like a lot of what he's doing with it. But it-- it's-- the point is that you've never seen me dress like that, right? Do you like that?

KEVIN POLOWY: It's a slasher movie meets classic body swap. Vince, let's start with you. How are you prepping yourself for this? Are you are you studying Kathryn at all? Are you studying other young females? I forgot-- was that-- sor-- sorry that sounds creepier than intended. Are you watching Pitch Perfect 2? Uh, h-- h-- How did you prepare for this?

VINCE VAUGHN: I didn't really watch other movies as much as sort of, yes, I would watch, you know, people who are age-appropriate for mannerisms, an-- and the fun of it was going to Kathryn-- you're building two characters, and then you have someone else and all their great ideas, and you kind of construct it together so you're on the same page. You really connect to these characters, and then the scares are awesome. Like, there's some great, you know, [? hallmark ?] kills. So, I think, you know, knowing it was Chris Landon, who's terrific at this with Happy Death Day and obviously the Paranormals. I felt pretty good going in and putting myself in this position knowing that you had a director that could really put all these elements together and make it feel like one film, and he did.

KEVIN POLOWY: How did you like tapping into sort of your-- your-- your own inner serial killer? Is there a thrill to shooting those scenes?

KATHRYN NEWTON: It's definitely thrilling because you never think you can do it. Like, you really don't think that anyone's going to believe it, or how are you going to be scary? So as soon as I would put on the outfit, it kind of got me in the zone, and then you just have to think about how gross it is and act like you like it. And I didn't like it. I don't like being a serial killer. It's not easy to be a serial killer. You've got to really know a lot. You have to know how to use a knife and stuff. I don't even know how to, like, cook in the kitchen, so I don't know what I'd do with a whole body.

KEVIN POLOWY: Playing, essentially, this young girl, you do end up swooning over a boy, uh, and you guys end up sharing a very tender, very romantic moment with him. There may be a kiss involved. What can you say about filming that sequence?

VINCE VAUGHN: It's obviously a big moment for the character. He had a crush on someone for the-- a movie, and I think like a lot of people in high school kind of learning who they are and not really having a lot of self-belief, and sort of, you know, being in that that that that moment where you are, you know, connecting to someone that you actually have feelings for.

- Standing and peeing is kind of rad.

- Millie, focus.

- Sorry. What?

- You both got hurt?

- Oh.

KEVIN POLOWY: What did you guys think of Vince's big kiss scene?

CELESTE O'CONNOR: I loved it! I loved it. I read it in the script, and I was like, wait, Millie is still? In th-- she hasn't swapped back? I was just like-- I was like-- has to be MTV Best Kiss.

MISHA OSHEROVICH: Friggin' Uriah and Vince brought it. Like, they were like, "If we're going to do this, we're going to do it, and we're going to do it right." It was incredible to watch. If you're from video village to see it, I'm like, do that and to really get into it. It's-- because that only works if you go all the way, and they absolutely did.

- I feel like I'm giving you a lot of information, and you literally just woke up. Phew! You look great.
