Vince Staples may be getting his acting money on Netflix these days but don’t get it confused; he’s still on some rap sh*t. The California artist took to X/Twitter on Tuesday (May 14) and Wednesday (May 15) to alert fans that new music is on the way, specifically “hella raps.”

The Converse ambassador took the time to remind fans that his Black in Europa Tour starts in June while also showing appreciation to fans on the platform for showing his previous works like Shyne Goldchain Vol. 1 and his verse on Earl Sweatshirt’s “Hive” love. “Tour starts next month & I’m coming James Brown dead homies,” he typed.

“Shyne Coldchain Vol. 2 came out 10 years ago and they wasn’t ready but we’ll talk about it soon. Make sure the phone bill paid… I’ve seen the love for the Hive verse, amongst other things, over the last few days, and I appreciate it. And I’m still on that. That said, there will be new Vince Staples music next week.”

Vince’s last album, Ramona Park Broke My Heart, was released in 2022. The LP was critically acclaimed upon release, with some critics dubbing it the most introspective and intricately nuanced project in the emcee’s discography.

Vince’s fifth album was included on several publications’ year-end lists for 2022, with the LP finishing in the top 5 on Complex, Clash, Vulture, and WiredRamona Park peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard 200 and No. 10 on the Top R&B /Hip-Hop Albums.

The Big Fish Theory artist’s new music, arriving next week, also coincides with the rapper kicking off his time on the 2024 festival circuit. His trek begins at Jack Harlow’s inaugural Gazebo Festival in Kentucky on May 25 and 26. In June, Vince Staples will hit the stage in Europe for his tour and then New Zealand for Elsewhere Festival, followed by Lollapalooza in August and then Austin City Limits Music Festival in October.
