The View star Ana Navarro's finger? The power that it has, the intelligence that it has, the clearance that it has, the access that it has, the influence that it has, the profile that it has, the international implications that it has...

Navarro kicked off Monday's episode of the talk show by settling into her signature, fully unbothered groove, making it clear to conservative cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin that, while using only her pointer finger, would finish her thought before entertaining pushback.

The moment occurred as Navarro seamlessly transitioned from rebuking Jada Pinkett Smith's Worthy memoir for going overboard with revelations about husband Will Smith to praising Senator Mitt Romney for criticizing fellow Republicans in a new biography.

"I'm done with the Jada thing, and I'm done defending Will because Will is out there supporting her. I think Will is being held emotionally prisoner. I don't want to read the book, I don't want to give them another dime for her emasculating and embarrassing him to everybody in the world. But, you know what I do want to read? Mitt Romney has a new biography coming out," Navarro said, to which legal expert Sunny Hostin quickly replied, "That's what you want to read?"

Navarro then listed the reasons Romney's book interested her, which mostly included a Rolodex of insults for everyone from Newt Gingrich and Ted Cruz to Rick Santorum.

While Navarro verbalized Romney's words, Griffin attempted to cut in several times.

"But, how is this..." she asked as Navarro continued, without acknowledging her colleague.

"But, how is this different than a lot of the... we criticized the [Donald] Trump books..." Griffin said, again speaking over Navarro, who promptly put her left pointer finger up without moving her eyes from her note cards, leading Griffin to smirk and say, "Okay" before settling back into her chair.

After Navarro concluded, Griffin finally spoke up.

"Why wait until the end when you're retiring to say all of this? It's a criticism of a lot of the Trump memoir. I'm someone who's guilty of it, but why wouldn't you say that at the time, not write it afterward?" Griffin resigned from Trump's staff and later spoke out against his behavior — especially his actions surrounding the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection. "So, it's like, oh, now you tell us how you really feel about all of these people in power we've been subjected to?"

The exchange marked the latest in a growing list of apparent squabbles between Navarro and Griffin, both of whom joined the show as permanent cohosts in September 2022.

Two months after they boarded the program, Navarro and Griffin clashed during a live Hot Topics chat about toxicity in the workplace.

"I can't really get a word in without you attacking me. So, I wouldn't say this is a totally different environment of women supporting each other," Griffin told Navarro at the time.
