‘The View': Joy Behar Says She Learned About Sex ‘In My Father’s Coca-Cola Truck’ (Video)

During a debate about sex education in classrooms on Friday’s show, “The View” co-host Joy Behar revealed the unconventional way she was educated about sex and pregnancy.

“I learned about sex in my father’s Coca-Cola truck,” Behar said. “My father was a truck driver, and my girlfriend said to me, ‘The man gets a big belly, then the woman gets a big belly, and then one of them has a baby.’ That’s how I learned it. Is that better?”

The panel was discussing outrage about plans to expand sex education programs in Omaha, Nebraska’s public schools when Behar asked her co-hosts to share their own experiences.

While Candace Cameron Bure and Raven-Symoné both said that because they went to school on set as child actors, they didn’t get any kind of in-school sex education, Cameron Bure said that it is important to her and her family that her kids “learn all perspectives” on the subject in the classroom.

Raven-Symoné went even further, calling on schools to educate students about hygiene and personal finance as well, and co-host Paula Faris was quick to call her out for it. “You’re asking them to do things that you should do,” she said.

The former Disney star clarified that she simply wanted schools to provide the information that some parents don’t provide.

When the conservative Cameron Bure started to push back, saying that parents should have the option to opt out when subjects such as “abortion, gender identity, things like that” make them uncomfortable, moderator Behar jumped in and had Michelle Collins transition them to a different subject.

“Let’s just change topics,” Collins said with a smirk before launching into a plug for the show’s Halloween episode.
