“The View” cohosts are unrecognizable in the wildest Halloween costumes of the year

The View cohosts just debuted some of the wildest celebrity Halloween costumes of the year, with each panelist nearly unrecognizable as they transformed into beloved characters from Up, Toy Story, Avatar, and more.

Keeping with the overall theme of The View's pre-taped 2023 Halloween episode, "When You Wish Upon a View," the cohosts celebrated 100 years of Disney in character as some of the studio's most iconic figures.

As EW exclusively revealed in a video of the special episode's cold open, moderator Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the episode as the Headless Horseman, who stormed the set atop a live steed.

Next came the cohost processional that revealed each stars' Halloween costume, including Alyssa Farah Griffin as Princess Jasmine from Aladdin; Ana Navarro as Mirabel from Encanto; Joy Behar as Cruella de Vil from Emma Stone's Cruella; Sara Haines in heavy prosthetics as Carl Fredricksen from Up; Sunny Hostin painted head to toe in blue as Neytiri from Avatar, and Goldberg as Barbie from Toy Story.

The cohosts later gathered around Madame Leota's crystal ball on The View stage, which transformed into a scene from the beloved Disney Haunted Mansion attraction to celebrate Halloween and mark the recently announced Haunted Mansion parlor bar set to open aboard the Disney Treasure ship, news of which EW exclusively revealed last week.

The View's Halloween episode is a fan-favorite installment that typically sees the cohosts transform into over-the-top costumes each year. Last year's edition made headlines (and raised eyebrows) when they paraded a child as an Oscar with a red handprint on their face in reference to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock on stage at the Academy Awards.

Griffin also elicited audience laughter after the show when she was doused her with a bucket of water during her recreation of Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw credits sequence from the beloved HBO comedy series Sex and the City.
