For her birthday, Navarro gifted her cohosts pouches emblazoned with animal designs — including a very particular creature for Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Ana Navarro apparently learned several lessons in throwing shade from the drag queen guests who helped celebrate her birthday on Friday's episode of The View, as the political commentator gifted her Republican cohost, Alyssa Farah Griffin, with a very pointed gift on her own special day.

Toward the end of the live broadcast, Navarro surprised her cohosts with gifts to celebrate her birthday, which fell on Dec. 28 amid the show's holiday hiatus.

"I was thinking of you all," Navarro said as she brought out a colorful sack filled with pouches emblazoned with African animals — one to represent each of her colleagues. After Joy Behar said she wanted the one with an elephant on it, Navarro smiled as she quipped, "actually, the elephant is for Alyssa."

Behar quickly responded, "because she's a Republican, get it?" as the audience laughed.

Navarro then gave Sara Haines a giraffe because she's "head and shoulders above the rest," while Sunny Hostin got the "bougie leopard" and Behar got a zebra because she doesn't "change her stripes," Navarro said.

She then turned to Griffin and said, "you get the elephant, because, God knows, it's a work in progress."

Griffin extended her hand to accept the pouch, though the camera showed her looking a bit skeptical a few moments later.

Many View fans have speculated about the relationship between Navarro — who's also a Republican, but has long criticized most conservative politics during her tenure on The View and as a regular contributor to CNN — and Griffin, the latter of whom joined the show after working for both Mike Pence and Donald Trump in the White House before resigning in December 2020.

Griffin now speaks out against the dangers of a potential second Trump presidency, but she and Navarro have had a seemingly contentious tenure together on the show. The pair often butt heads at the Hot Topics table, and Navarro even addressed the perceived tension in a tweet in September.

In December 2022, Navarro and Griffin clashed on air over a Hot Topics segment about toxicity in the workplace.

"I can't really get a word in without you attacking me. So, I wouldn't say this is a totally different environment of women supporting each other," Griffin told Navarro.

The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
