Heavenly Tribute to George Michael on ‘Lip Sync Battle’

Don Cheadle squared off against Wanda Sykes on Lip Sync Battle Thursday night. Don got the party started with some “Real Love” by Mary J. Blige, and Wanda brought everyone together with Queen Latifah’s “U.N.I.T.Y.” Although, the second round is where things really heated up. Don went first again with a flashy performance of The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems,” and he even got a special guest appearance by Mase, who was originally on that album. The number ended with the guys swinging from the rafters, “flying” through the air. It was a bold performance, but Wanda wasn’t going to back down. Wanda was up next for her final performance, and she too used the rafters as she descended toward the stage in a chair that looked like a cloud, as she strummed a harp. Once her cloud chair landed on the ground, the sounds coming from her harp turned into a guitar as the beginning of George Michael’s “Faith” started playing. The heavenly performance was a tribute to the late singer who died this last Christmas, and while nothing will match George shakin’ his booty in those tight jeans, Wanda gave it her best shot. Unfortunately, the Mase cameo was too much to overcome, and Don won the Lip Sync Battle belt. Although, Wanda had some parting words for the crowd, saying, “Y'all to go home and rethink your decision. And you will not sleep tonight. You will not sleep tonight!”
