Video Premiere: ¡MAYDAY! Tackles Heroin Addiction in ‘Against My Better Judgement’
You don’t need to have ever had a bout with heroin, or any addiction, to be moved by ¡MAYDAY!’s song and video for “Against My Better Judgement.” The 5-minute short that premieres exclusively on Yahoo Music tells the saddening story of a young couple living for their next fix.
Viewers watch nervously, fearing the worst fate for the pair that appears on the verge of overdose and in desperate need of rehabilitation.

The Strange Music hip-hop act comprising Wrekonize, Bernz, Gianni Ca$h and NonMS takes a more acoustic and melodic approach on the record they’ve described as a “love song about our vices.” The song is also a call for help with lyrics like, “Cause I don’t know what else to do / Will you help me through?”
The message especially hits home for director Jason Cantu who lost a close friend to drugs the week prior to shooting the video.
The song appears on ¡MAYDAY!’s album Future Vintage.
