Grammy-nominated trio Lady Antebellum has teamed up with National Geographic to produce a very special music video for their hit song “Army.” Made in conjunction with Musicians on Call and iHeartMedia, the video was also created alongside the premiere of The Long Road Home (which airs Tuesdays, 10 p.m. ET on the National Geographic channel) to honor veterans and their families in support of long-term well-being.

As part of a contest (#MyArmyContest) held October through early November, fans were encouraged to submit photos or videos via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram showing off the heroes in their lives. For each submission, National Geographic donated $1 to Musicians on Call, an organization that brings music directly to veterans in health care facilities.

The music video shows off some of the most affecting of these submissions. “Throughout our career we have been lucky enough to meet some incredible military veterans and their families,” Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott explained. “‘Army’ has such a special meaning to us, and when we were writing this for our families we had no idea how much of a universal feeling it would draw out of our fans. Whether it be their teacher, mom, or best friend, we are looking forward to watching the stories that come through and create an incredible music moment that will also recognize the heroic sacrifices of our troops and their families.”

The song can be found on the soundtrack The Long Road Home, which fans can buy on iTunes.
