Victorville Sings, Concert in the Park Series returns this summer

City leaders have announced the return of "Concerts in the Park Series" and open auditions for the annual "Victorville Sings" competition.

Each concert, scheduled from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on select Fridays in June and July, will include live music, food vendors, a youth Fun Zone and performances from Victorville Sings finalists.

This year’s concert lineup includes:

— June 21- Silver Lining - country

— June 28 - Tania y Su Nueva Era - Latin

— July 12 - Acme Time Machine - oldies

— July 19 - Southbound & Co. - classic rock

Victorville Sings

Auditions for Victorville Sings are scheduled at 5 p.m. on May 15 at the Cultural Arts Center of the High Desert at 15615 Eighth Street in Victorville.

The top 15 singers will advance to compete during the city’s concerts in the park this summer at Hook Park at 14973 Joshua Street.

Finalists will be selected from each of the concerts on June 21, June 28, and July 12. The 2024 Victorville Sings Champion will be crowned at the final concert on July 19.

Last summer, Leahna Ortega Flores was crowned the 2023 Victorville Sings Champion. The finalists were Cali De Anda and Zoey Wilson.

Singing contestants can register online at VictorvilleCA.gov/Recreation or in-person between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday at Hook Park Community Center. The registration fee is $5 before May 10 when the fee increases to $15.

During the concerts, audience members can text “TXT2VOTE” for their favorite Victorville Sings contestants.
