The Victoria’s Secret Angels are officially dusting off their wings. On Wednesday, May 15, the long-running underwear and swimwear brand announced that it’s bringing back its iconic Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for 2024 after a six-year hiatus. The company, which also sells fragrance, loungewear, athleisure, and body care, teased the news in an Instagram post while also hinting at some changes to the once-annual lingerie extravaganza.

“We’ve read the comments and heard you,” the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show’s Instagram account began alongside a video that showed a VS Squad group chat with longtime Angel Candice Swanepoel.

“The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK  and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love—the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment, and more!” the message continued. “Stay tuned…it only gets more iconic from here.”

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which ran from 1995 to 2018, was a high-octane production where the oftentimes bejeweled lingerie were just a small part of the draw. Over the years, the biggest models of the moment–including supermodel legends like Naomi Campbell, Gisele Bündchen, Claudia Schiffer, and Tyra Banks–were picked to walk the runway in increasingly more over-the-top wings, while A-list musicians like Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, and Jay-Z performed. The annual fantasy bras–lingerie covered in millions of dollars of jewels–were an extravagant touch, and Gisele’s $15 million red hot fantasy bra from 2001 still holds the title as the most expensive piece of lingerie ever made.

In more recent years, It girls like Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and Bella Hadid began strutting the VS runway. However, amidst plummeting viewership and a number of controversies, Victoria’s Secret announced that the annual fashion show wouldn’t be making a return in 2019. It seemed like the annual runway event was defunct, until VS launched The Tour '23 on Prime Video–a spotlight of four different collections hosted by Gigi Hadid and modeled by VS icons like Adriana Lima and Naomi Campbell–last year.

The brand didn’t reveal what changes it’ll be making to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show’s format, but if The Tour is any indication, viewers could see a different format compared to the shows of the 2000s and 2010s.

Fans will have to wait until fall 2024 to see what Victoria’s Secret’s cooking up, but it’s safe to say there will be plenty of wings and big musical names on docket.
