Victoria Monét Named Billboard’s 2024 Honda Rising Star Of The Year

Victoria Monét has been named as Billboard’s 2024 Honda Rising Star of the Year. Billboard announced the news on Thursday (Feb. 8) across social media. The Jaguar II singer‘s honor arrives on the heels of the artist winning three awards at the 2024 Grammys. Monét’s accolade is included in Billboard’s annual Women In Music Awards presented by Marriott Bonvoy.

The event will honor women in the music industry who have dominated the space in 2023. Billboard’s Women In Music event will occur on Wednesday (March 6) at the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles.

Colombian artist Karol G will be honored as the recipient of the headlining 2024 Woman of the Year Award. The “QLONA” singer is also expected to perform during the celebration.

An official press release for the event details their decision to select Karol for the honor. “With her immense talent, Karol G has created a movement for women across the globe due to her empowering lyrics and inspiring confidence,” Hannah Karp, Billboard’s editorial director, said. “The release of her groundbreaking album Mañana Será Bonito has proven her a force to be reckoned with in both the English and Spanish charts. We are so excited to honor her as Woman of the Year.”

Billboard previously honored Cardi B, SZA, Madonna, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Lady Gaga as Women of the Year.

Along with Victoria and Karol, the commemoration will also celebrate seven other women. Tems will be celebrated with the Breakthrough Award; Ice Spice will receive the Hitmaker Award; Young Miko will be honored with the Impact Award presented by American Express; pop star Charli XCX will walk away with the Powerhouse Award; Maren Morris will receive the Visionary Award; NewJeans will be celebrated with the Group of the Year Award; and Kylie Minogue will be honored with the Icon Award.
