The Alabama Corrections Officer Vicky White died of suicide in April 2022. White was accused of freeing an inmate named Casey White from an Alabama jail. She worked in the very same jail and had apparently had a relationship with Casey. At the time of her passing, Vicky White was 56 years old.

According to CNN, Vicky took her own life by shooting herself in the head. It only took a single bullet to end the life of the corrections officer. The woman helped her lover the 39-year-old Casey White escape from prison on Friday, April 29, 2022, and was on the run from authorities for a total of 11 days. While on the run, the pair’s car collided with the vehicle of law enforcement in Evansville, Indiana.

Officials believe that the 56-year-old woman took her own life as soon as the collision took place. Dave Wedding, the sheriff in Vanderburgh County, Indiana said, “We believe that she may have taken her own life.” Cops eventually arrested Casey White.

Vicky White and Casey White’s relationship explained

The sheriff in Lauderdale County, Alabama, Rick Singleton said, that Vicky and Casey had a special relationship. He said,

“We have confirmed through independent sources and other means that there was in fact a relationship between Casey White and Vicky White outside of her normal work hours – not physical contact – but a relationship of a different nature.”

Vicky was a childless widow, while Casey was a convicted felon and murder suspect. According to several inmates, Casey used to get special treatment, which was all because of his relationship with Vicky.

Investigators further revealed that this relationship dates back to 2020. Several acquaintances of Vicky were shocked to learn that she was romantically involved with an inmate because, according to them, was displayed great professionalism in her work.
