Viceland Sets Three New Series; Renews ‘King Of The Road’ & ‘Weediquette’

Viceland, the new channel from Vice Media and A+E Networks, is rolling out three new series as part of its winter programming slate and has renewed its series King of the Road and Weediquette.

The new shows include Payday, which airs Fridays at 9 PM after premiering November 11. It follows four twentysomethings over the course of a single pay period to see how they live, spend, struggle and thrive, tracing the fortunes of this emerging generation. Each episode focuses on a specific city in North America.

Also on Viceland’s slate is Big Night Out, which follows Clive Martin — described as Vice the UK’s T.S. Eliot of rave culture — as he travels the planet to discover how partying has become an act of rebellion, sustenance and survival for young people everywhere. Big Night Out premieres December 14 at 9 PM.

Bong Appétit, described as equal parts Naked Chef, Martha Stewart and the Barefoot Contessa — with weed. Hosted by Vice’s Abdullah Saeed, the series explores the making and consumption of high-end cannabis-infused foods with different chefs and party guests each episode. It premieres December 15 at 11:30 PM.

The network also announced season renewals for its hybrid skateboard-reality competition show King of the Road. Also returning for its third season, Viceland breakout Weediquette features Krishna Andavolu in an ongoing look at the role of marijuana in all points within the culture as the U.S. slowly begins to legalize it. Premiere dates are TBA.
