Vice Names James Rosenstock President of Viceland International TV Networks

Vice Media has promoted James Rosenstock to president of Viceland International, overseeing the youth-focused media company’s global television networks.

Rosenstock joined the company last year as executive VP of international and chief corporate development officer. He remains head of corporate development, in addition to his new responsibilities as president of Viceland International.

Viceland launched in the U.S. and Canada in February. The network, led by co-presidents Spike Jonze and Eddy Moretti, is operated by Vice in partnership with A+E Networks in the United States and with Rogers Media in Canada. Viceland premiered in September in the U.K. and Ireland, and is set to expand to almost 50 new territories in the next year, including France, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, the Middle East and India.

As president of Viceland International, Rosenstock will lead the team managing the network’s operations worldwide and work closely with in-country Vice offices on sales, licensing, local production, distribution and marketing. Rosenstock also will oversee Viceland’s relationships with existing distributors and partners in local territories while pursuing new opportunities.

“TV is just our latest move to bring Vice to as many people as possible wherever they’re consuming it, and as president of Viceland International, Jay will ensure it works hand in glove with our mobile and digital businesses, as well as coordinating with our operations around the world to deliver a local product,” Vice co-president James Schwab said in a statement.

Reporting to Rosenstock in his new role are: Arjan Hoekstra, GM of Viceland EMEA and APAC; Kevin Sutcliffe, senior VP of TV and video programming; Quincy Raby, GM of Viceland Canada; CJ Fahey, strategy and operations; Cristian Jofre, creative director; and Samuel Hamilton, business development and affiliate relations.

Prior to joining Vice, Rosenstock was EVP of corporate development at Discovery Communications and before that was VP of corporate development at Sony Corp. He began his career as an investment banker in the media and entertainment industry, working for Credit Suisse and Societe Generale.
