Ex-Vice Media Exec Eddy Moretti Launches Unbranded Pictures At Sundance With $14M Amazon-Bought Drama ‘The Report’

EXCLUSIVE: Former Vice chief creative officer Eddy Moretti has launched Unbranded Pictures, and the company has gotten off to a rousing start. It is one of the producers on the Scott Z. Burns-directed The Report, which sold this morning at the Sundance Film Festival in a splashy $14 million world rights sale to Amazon Studios. The film becomes Unbranded Pictures’ first foray as a development, production and financing vehicle.

“Unbranded Pictures is a reflection of my lifelong passion for scripted storytelling for the big screen,” said Toronto-born Moretti. “The two-hour narrative – perfected by over a century of feature filmmaking – is a global cultural treasure, and we are entering a phase in which it will be increasingly valued as such. Our mission is to produce the work that will endure the test of time.”

Moretti has produced over a dozen motion pictures and feature documentaries that include the Sundance 2019 selections Judy & Punch and The Mountain, and thousands of hours of digital content. His work has been recognized at major film festivals and awarded with several Emmys, Peabodys, Canadian Screen Awards and Cannes Lions.
