Veteran TV Exec Dave Mace Named EVP Development At Brian Graden Media

Veteran television executive and producer Dave Mace has been hired as Executive Vice President of Development at Brian Graden Media. In his new role, Mace will oversee the development of television and digital content for the company. This is a new position, as BMG is expanding.

This is a reunion for Mace and Graden, whose relationship dates back to 2005, when Graden was President of MTV Networks & Logo Group, and hired Mace as Head of Development for the soon-to-launch Logo Network. While there, they developed such hit shows such as RuPaul’s Drag Race and The Big Gay Sketch Show. Mace then went on to found VH1’s Creative Lab, Viacom’s first-ever internal team devoted to creating innovative, forward-thinking development. He first cut his teeth in development working for Oscar-winning producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Most recently, he served as VP of Alternative and Non-Fiction Programming at A&E, where he oversaw Storage Wars, Flipping Vegas, and Lachey’s Bar.

“Dave was responsible for Kate McKinnon’s first series role, Lady Gaga’s first television appearance, and “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” He knows what’s new, now and next,” said Graden. “He’s been successful at multiple networks, in every imaginable genre, and we’re thrilled he’s joining the Brian Graden Media family.”

Since its formation in 2012, the Los Angeles company has produced series for E!, VH1, MTV, Logo, and Current TV, among others. Its series portfolio includes the Emmy-winning HitRecord on TV, starring Joseph Gordon Levitt for Pivot; Walk of Shame for VH1; Todrick, starring Internet star Todrick Hall for MTV; and Gay Skit Happens for Logo, among others.BGM currently has projects in development at SyFy, Seeso, YouTube Red, Esquire, CW, Logo, and A&E, among other networks.
