'Versace' star Cody Fern joins final season of 'House of Cards'
“American Crime Story: Versace” breakout star Cody Fern is about to tangle with Claire Underwood.
Fern will join the final season of “House of Cards” in a supporting role, the streaming service announced Thursday. Details about Fern’s role are under wraps, but he joins fellow newcomers Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear.
On “Versace,” Fern played architect David Madson, one of the men targeted by serial killer Andrew Cunanan. Fern wrapped up his series arc on a devastating fourth episode that aired Wednesday night. Fern is repped by CAA, 3 Arts Entertainment and Narrative PR.

“House of Cards” resumed production this month after an unexpected hiatus prompted by Kevin Spacey’s dismissal from the flagship Netflix series.
Spacey’s firing came after reports of sexual misconduct on the set of the show, from studio Media Rights Capital, as well as accusations from numerous men who said Spacey assaulted or harassed them when they were minors. Over the holidays, showrunners Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese shut down the writers room to reconfigure a final eight-episode season that sees Robin Wright as the lone series lead.
Returning cast members including Emmy nominee Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott and Boris McGiver.
