There's a reason celebrities return to the iconic “Old Hollywood waves” time and time again: it's glamour personified. The side-parted style, which typically starts off sleek at the crown and flows into curls and waves with the front portion obscuring or hugging the eye a la the '40s actor Veronica Lake, has been a go-to on the red carpet since what feels like forever, and Megan Thee Stallion's take on the timeless look deserves its own star on the Walk of Fame.

Megan served up Hollywood glam to the max at the Planned Parenthood of Greater New York Gala on April 16, attending the event in a classic combo of black gown, tumbling waves, and red lips. (She was honored with the Catalyst of Change award at the ceremony.) Megan's hair, styled by her longtime hairstylist Kellon Deryck, was parted deeply to the side with the waves beginning near her brow, flowing just past her collarbone in big, perfectly sculpted bends with tons of starlet shine.

As usual, makeup artist Lauren Elise Child was behind Megan's precise brows, fluttery lashes, and a peachy rose blush, paired with a light wash of shadow on her lids. Child lined Megan's lips with a liner a few shades darker than the bright red center color for a subtle ombré effect. Megan matched her nails to her Versace gown with simple shiny black all-over color in a sharp stiletto shape, a full 180 from the sheer pink color she wore for a recent basketball game.

Megan always nails a glamorous wave moment, like the platinum blonde wig she wore in the “Not My Fault” music video alongside Mean Girls star Reneé Rapp; she revisited the look again for the film's premiere, complete with Burn Book nail art.

Most of us don't get to walk red carpets on the regular, but wedding season is upon us, and the Hollywood wave is also a go-to for brides. If you're tying the knot in the next few months or have a black-tie wedding on your calendar, take a cue from the Hot Girl Coach and go for the glamour.
