Venomous Eastern Brown Snake Hides Between Sliding Doors in Elderly Woman's Queensland Home

A snake catcher’s skills were put to the test by a sneaky eastern brown snake that hid between two sliding doors in a family home on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

Snake catcher Stuart McKenzie spent close to 90 minutes capturing the venomous reptile that slid into a 91-year-old woman’s house on March 22, 2020.

“You can see here it is, curled down at the end,” McKenzie is heard saying in a video that shows the snake resting in the sliding door cavity. The reptile then attempts to move away from the door before being captured by McKenzie.

“It was in the last place I looked, in the sliding door cavity in the wall!” McKenzie wrote on a Facebook post that featured the video. “I am so glad I found it.” Credit: Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 via Storyful
