Anyone who has a dog in a city knows you have to walk them a lot.

I did a little math, and since I adopted my golden retriever last year, I’ve walked Stevie over 1,000 times. When I first slipped into the Gel-Nimbus shoes, I was amazed at the level of cushioning. They finally gave my feet the arch support they so desperately longed for. I remember taking my first few steps and feeling a significant difference because they cushion your foot equally as you push off the ball and heel, giving you an even and balanced stride.

Despite the size of the shoes (they’re a little bulky from the added cushion), they still feel lightweight and breathable. I’ve found that they offer a good pace without catching on uneven sidewalks thanks to their smooth bottom.

I’m not a runner, but I’ve tried the shoes in other scenarios, too. They were just as versatile with HIIT exercise and shuffling around in boxing classes as they were with cycles on the elliptical machine and walking 40 blocks home from Central Park.

I have the Piedmont Gray pair, and though I love a good neutral, my shoes see a lot of use and get very dirty.
