Variety On Set: Inside An Indie Film’s COVID-19 Safety Protocols

We’ve seen the exhaustive white papers and read countless stories about the cash and elbow grease that coronavirus safety protocols will cost film and TV productions around the world.

But what is a day in the life of a movie set like in the age of COVID-19? Variety was invited to a recent location shoot for the horror indie “The Knocking” in Los Angeles, where we observed the meticulous protective measures in action.

From a rigorous check-in process to single-serve snacks, streaming camera feeds and a new culture of isolation, here’s what we observed on a post-COVID movie set.
