Variety to Host Global Conversations at Cannes Film Festival

Variety will present conversations centered on global incentives and filming at Cannes Film Festival at La Plage Des Palmes on Saturday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. local time.

Panelists from New Zealand, The Czech Republic and Film Alula will participate in conversations moderated by Variety reporters Leo Barraclough, Tatiana Siegel and Nick Vivarelli. The panels will highlight each of the region’s facilities, incentives and filming community. Guests at the conversations will include producers, sales agents, distributors and creatives looking to learn about the different filming opportunities in these regions.

Markéta Šantrochová, head of the Czech Film Center at the Czech Film Fund; Pavlína Žipková, head of the Czech Film Commission at the Czech Film Fund; and Petr Tichý, CEO of Barrandov Studio will discuss 20 years of the Czech Republic at Marché du Film, as well as film development and talent in the country. Philippa Mossman will talk about New Zealand’s film incentives and programs. Charlene Deleon-Jones, executive director of Film AlUla, and Greg Silverman, CEO of Stampede Ventures, will speak at the Film Alula panel conversation.
