Vanessa Hudgens fell in love with her wedding venue — but it did come with a few challenges.

For one, the actress — who married baseball player Cole Tucker on Saturday — said she nearly fainted the first time she toured the location in Tulum, Mexico. In an interview with Vogue, Hudgens, 34, shared that she had her heart set on staging her wedding at the Azulik Hotel, which she had long been eyeing on Instagram.

“I told Cole, ‘Maybe we could go here on our honeymoon…we would get such great pictures. Wait — maybe we could get married here?!’” she recalled to the outlet.

Keen to check out the hotel in person, she managed to squeeze in a trip to Tulum amid filming for the latest Bad Boys movie. “I was like, 'You know what, even if it’s not that hotel, I’m sure I’ll find another hotel that might work,' " she explained. “I also knew I wanted to get married somewhere warm. I felt like ‘Mexico it is!’"

Hudgens also noted that she was seeking a venue that was "very spiritual" and surrounded by nature. When she arrived at the hotel, she was given a lengthy tour, and while she was eager to see the expansive property, she started to feel a bit unwell. "I was so hot and felt like I was going to faint," she recalled.

However, that was only part one.

"At the end of this very long tour, I was like, ‘Where would we have our ceremony?’ and they were like, ‘Oh, that would be at our museum [the Azulik City of Arts],’ and they said, ‘It’s 45 minutes into the jungle.’ I was thinking, ‘Okay, that sounds aggressive, but I guess I’ll give it a try,' " she continued.

As she made the trek deep into the jungle — much of it "down an unpaved dirt road" — she started to have serious doubts. "I proceeded to think, ‘There’s no way in hell we’ll be able to have our wedding here — how are we going to get our entire party out here down this bumpy dirt road?' " she said.

That all changed the moment she set eyes on the museum. “I knew that it was our place,” she recalled. “I felt like I was transported to some kind of utopia, unlike anything I had ever been to before. It was whimsical and magical, and I just fell in love.”

Hudgens and Tucker, 27, exchanged handwritten vows in an outdoor ceremony on the museum grounds in what she described to Vogue as "one of the most emotional moments of my life."

“I literally keeled over when I saw Cole and had to take a big breath and had to force myself to keep walking because I could have dropped to the floor," she said of her groom, who plays for the Albuquerque Isotopes.

As she looks back on the wedding, Hudgens said she is still basking in the glow of the moment. “It was genuinely the most magical weekend of my life,” she told the magazine. "Literally talking about it right now, I’m getting teary-eyed. I couldn’t have dreamt it to be any better. I knew it was going to be magical, but it exceeded my expectations.”

Tulum, located about an hour and a half south of Cancun by car, has become a popular hotspot among Hollywood's A-listers. Kate Bosworth, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kristen Cavallari, Julianne Hough and Alessandra Ambrosio are among the many celebs who have vacationed there in recent years.
