Vanessa Hudgens Denies Engagement After Posting Selfie With a Sparkler on Her Ring Finger
Don’t expect wedding bells for Vanessa Hudgens just yet.
The actress had fans buzzing over a potential engagement to boyfriend, Austin Butler, thanks to a pic she posted on Sunday showing a decent sized sparkler on her wedding ring finger.
The caption, “And then this happened,” only fueled wedding talk.
However, the positioning had no meaning to it, according to a tweet shared by the actress to clarify her status on Tuesday.
Furthermore, fans should have been looking at her hair, not her hands -- as signaled by the scissor emojis accompanied her original post!
“Guysssss. I’m not engaged!” wrote the 29-year-old star, who recently wrapped filming Second Chance with Jennifer Lopez. “I posted a pic. Not to show off my ring that I happened to throw on that finger after a long day of filming, but to show off my haircut Lol."
She then added a facepalm emoji.
The cute couple have been dating since 2011 and have endured frequent time apart due to their filming schedules and locations.
As well as globetrotting visits to spend time together -- like when Hudgens headed to New Zealand to visit Butler while he was filming The Shannara Chronicles -- they also spend plenty of time on video calls.
“FaceTime!” Hudgens recently told ET, about how the pair make long-distance love work. “FaceTime -- I tell everyone, FaceTime!”
